To help protect our customers, merchants, and payment processing partners from fraud, unauthorized transactions, and chargebacks, all first-time credit card users must complete a payment verification process before credit card payments can be enabled on their accounts.
Account Instant Payment Verification
The Account Instant Payment Verification is a $5 debit card transaction that serves as a one-time verification process. This transaction confirms account ownership and establishes eligibility for future credit card processing.
Once the verification is successfully completed, customers may use approved credit cards for future purchases, subject to payment processor approval and account standing.
Debit Card Purchases
Customers who do not wish to complete the $5 verification transaction may simply complete their first purchase using a debit card. A successful debit card purchase immediately establishes account verification and may enable additional payment options, including credit card processing, on subsequent transactions.
Credit Card Processing
Credit card processing is available only after the account has completed the required verification process through either:
- The $5 Account Instant Payment Verification transaction, or
- A successful first debit card purchase
This requirement helps reduce fraud, prevent unauthorized card usage, and maintain compliance with payment processor security standards. It also helps protect merchants from excessive chargebacks, allowing continued access to credit card payment services.
Alternative Payment Methods
The following payment methods do not require the debit card verification enablement process and may be used immediately:
- E-Check (Electronic Check)
- Cash App
- TrenDigital
Customers choosing any of these payment methods may proceed directly to checkout without completing the $5 Account Instant Payment Verification.
